Slippery Sam invades Runescape: A Stealing Guide
Long long ago in a kingdom far far away lived a man named Samuel Quickfingers. He was not a handsome man, not a strong man, and definitely not a brave man. He earned his living off other folks work, and soon built up a reputation so well-known that he was often attacked on sight! Sam was a thief, you see, and spent a great deal of time perfecting his skill.

Time passed and Sam grew tired of constantly being hunted while he tried to earn his living. Late one night he snuck down to the fishing pier and stole a boat from a local and set sails for a new land... a new beginning... a place where he could practice in peace! These are his opinions, his advise.

If you aren't a member, this won't be much help to you, so.... go subscribe! This guide does not teach the basics, there are a plethora of guides that do that just fine.

The fastest way to increase your stealing is to have a stationary target! Using your *fist* attack your target so they will follow you. Lure the target into a building, then run out and close the door behind you, trapping your target inside. Walk away, then come back. Make sure your target is not still mad at you, then go inside, and close the door behind you. The end result is your target trapped inside a small area so you don't have to chase them all over the place. This will let you level *much* faster. I recommend you do not wear armor. After reaching level 5 you won't need any food any ways, so hpts don't matter too much.

Until you reach level 5 you'll need to supply your own food. I recommend fishing, even shrimp will work. You have to start out with common men or women, so find the nearest building with one inside and go to work. It can be very slow at first, but keep at it!

After reaching level 5 head to East Ardougne, and steal from the bakers stall. In the marketplace there are level 20 guards that will attack the first person they see stealing from a stall. Because you will be occasionally attacked, you may want to bring a weapon if you can easilly kill the guards. Run away if not. If there are others stealing in the marketplace (common), wait until someone else triggers the guard before stealing. Avoid being on the same side of the stall as the stall owner! Keep some food on you incase of attack, but drop the rest as you go. You'll earn 16 exp every time, and the food stalls respawn *very* fast. This lets you pile up exp quickly at the early levels. :)

Once you reach level 25, steal from the food stall until you have a full backpack of cakes except 1 empty slot. Find a female warrior. Sometimes they can be hard to find as people like to kill them, but you will find one around the marketplace. Once you find one, lure it into a building and go to work. Keep stealing until you run out of cakes. Go get more cakes. Run back to the building and see if she's still inside. If not, find another. :p

After reaching level 38 you may want to go to draynor village and steal from the master farmer to build up a seed collection for farming. If you do, be prepared to bring your own food as there's no food stall nearby.

If you decide not to steal from the master farmer, keep stealing from the female warriors in ardounge until level 40. At this point you can begin to steal from the level 20 guards that plagued you earlier in your career! Yay! I like using the row of buildings on the southwest corner of the marketplace, with a guard that spawns just outside the northern door. I lure them into the buildings north door, lock them in, then run next to the southern door of that room. Most of the time this will be outside the guards "zone", and he will instantly start to ignore you.

From level 40 until level 55 you'll be stealing from guards. By stealing in ardougne you'll have a constant supply of food, so everything is pure profit for you. Guards don't bring in big bucks, but 30 gp for each rep does start to add up.

Once you reach level 55 you get to switch to the knights you should have seen "keeping the peace" in the marketplace. 50 gp each rep, along with 84.5 exp really starts to add up quickly. All this without having to spend a gp/fish for food.

At this time I'm level 59. I'm unsure if I'll switch to watchmen at level 65 or continue with knights until 70 when I can tackle the paladins in the marketplace of ardougne. I really enjoy the food stall there, even when I could fish shark. I'll update this when the time comes. :)

Slippery Sam has found his new home. The town is named Ardougne, and their citizens have no idea what monster walks the streets there at night.

Random Tip:
For players who cannot teleport to Ardougne, the fastest way to get there is to take a ship from Port Sarim to Karamja, then Brimhaven to Ardougne.
Scam Alert!
Do not rush trades. Taking that extra 10 seconds to look could save you from taking that extra 10 days to make up a loss.
