Big Chompy Bird Hunting

Rantz the Ogre needs to feed his demanding children, Fycie and Bugs, so he wants to go Big Chompy Bird hunting. Problem is, he's all fingers and thumbs when it comes to making ogre arrows.

Could someone please give him a hand?

Items Needed:
Axe (woodcutting), about 110 feathers, knife, chisel, gear to kill a wolf(s), and defend yourself from ogres.

Skills/Quests Needed:
Level 5 Fletching, Level 30 Cooking, Level 30 Ranging.

Start Location:
Rants in the Ogre area South of Yanille

Combat:
Wolf [Level - 64], Ogre [Level - 48, 70]

Making The Arrows
After speaking to rants he will want arrows (stickers? stickies?) so cut one of the many Achey trees that grows in the area. You should cut about 6 or 7 logs, and can always get more if you need them. These will form the shafts of your ogre arrows. Go ahead and cut the shafts and use your feathers with them, so you will know the number of arrows you will have (its not a fixed number). After you know this head to the wolves which can be found at any one of the area watering holes, and kill some. After the kill, grab the bones and use your knife with them. Repeat untill the number of arrowtips matches the number of feathered shafts. Now add the tips to the arrows.

The Bait
Head back to Rantz, and give him the arrows he wants. Ask him all the questions you can, and then head into the cave near (east of) him. Speak to the sons then check the corner and find the chest with the lock..err...rock on it. Open it and grab the Ogre Bellows inside, then head back to the watering hole. Use the Bellows with the bubbles in the water, and then snag a toad or three.

The Tactics
Go back to Rantz again and tell him you have the toads. He will show you (per cutscene) how to set the bait. Go down, and set the bait for him and he will take a shot. After he complains about your arrows, ask to try. Set a toad and shoot the bird when it appears. Grab it, pluck it, and take it to Rantz. Now he wants you to cook it for him too.

The Recipie
He'll have you ask the kids what they would like on their chompy for dinner (how cute). Since the ingrediants are different for each person, heres a list of all possible options and the nearest location.

Onion: To the west of the swamp, there's a fire and some ogres, right around there.
Doogle leaf: West of the swamp.
Equa Leaf: You can get this south-east of Rantz, south of the place you placed your toad for the bait.
Tomato: West of the swamp on a stool.
Cabbage: North of the swamp where there is a bear.
Potato: south-east of Rantz.

Grab your ingrediants, stick it on the spitroast, then give it to Rantz and your done with the quest!

Reward:
1470 Cooking XP, 735 Ranging XP, 262 Fletching XP, Ogre Bow, Ability to Hunt Chompies (Rantz will give hats out for Chompies killed) and the ability to make Ogre Arrows, 2 QP.

Random Tip:
Be wary of people who offer unrealistic deals. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
