Introduction:
Fight Pits, unlike fight CAVES is a multiplayer minnigame. Many people confuse pits with caves because of the same general location. Fight pits is a last-man-standing style of game. Because it is based on a matter of personal preference (in terms of equipment and attack styles) this will be another short guide.

Equipment to Play:
Fight pits is a PvP minigame. The equipment you choose should be the best you can for you attack style (range/mage/melee). Veracs, and Dharoks sets are a favorite among fight pits melee players because of their set bonuses. Rangers are rare in the pits, and mages tend to swing towards ahrims combined with a nasty dose of ancient magicks. In truth full rune with a dragon long would be best if thats what you like. It simply comes down to what you prefer and are used to using.

How to Play:
When you enter the arena you will not be allowed to attack anyone for a short period of time. This gives people time for their teams to meet up, or for the soloists to scatter. Many people like to pick a corner and hide, letting the stronger people kill off the weaker people before they choose to show themselves. This is generally a bad idea because when there are around 5-6 people left in a group, and they see that there are 7 players still in the game, they tend to gang up.
As for the in game rules of Fight Pits, the objective is to be the last player standing. Teaming is allowed, all forms of combat are allowed, and hiding is (while not smart), allowed.
The last player standing will receive a small amount of Tokkul (the Tzhaar City Currency), and be marked with a red skull. This has no effect on stats, or anything in the game other than to show who won the last game.

Rewards:
As stated above, the winner will receive an amount of Tokkul, determined by the number of players in the game (s)he won. Tokkul can be spent in the Tzhaar City ONLY. It has no value whatsoever in the Runescape economy, as it is untradeable, and so you should save it for an item of your choice or drop it.
