Lumbridge

New players fresh off of Tutoral Island will find themselves in Lumbridge, home of many of the skill tutors, farms, and one of a few of Runescape's canoe stations. Lumbridge is the second largest city in the kingdom of Misthalin. Ruled by Duke Horatio, in recent months its officials have been shrouded in scandal, including an issue with the surface-sensative Dorgeshuun Cave Goblins, which nearly resulted in a war no thanks to the advisor to the Duke, Sigmond. Noble adventurers may also find an interest in quests such as Rune Mysteries, Dragon Slayer, or the Restless Ghost, all of which can either be started in Lumbridge or have a part played out in this city. Other notable features are the swamp south of it, the woods west, home to the H.A.M. (Humans Against Monsters) hideout, and its landmark bridge, one of the first sights a player will see in the world of Runescape. Players can find the small but strategicly usefull Draynor Village just west through the woods, the desert oasis of Al Kharid to the west (toll gate requires 10 gold to pass), and across the bridge and North the capital city of Varrock can be found. For those training slayer, you might take an interest in the Lumbridge Slayer Caves. These caves are dark, so be sure and take a light source and a way to relight it. The monsters here range in level from 14 to 99, so a moderate understanding and character ability in combat is recommended before you venture into this area.

Random Tip:
For players who cannot teleport to Ardougne, the fastest way to get there is to take a ship from Port Sarim to Karamja, then Brimhaven to Ardougne.
Scam Alert!
Watch out for quick-shifting traders. Always check the second trade screen to make sure they have not switched items or coin amounts without you seeing.
